Prime Minister Theresa May has pledged that the Government will introduce "tough new rules" in the spring to prevent workers' pensions being put at risk by "executives who try to line their own pockets".

Writing in The Observer, she said: "Businesses will have to demonstrate that they have taken into account the long-term consequences of their decisions. Too often, we've seen top executives reaping big bonuses for recklessly putting short-term profit ahead of long-term success."
