Working papers published on the investment consultancy and fiduciary management markets

Trustees Agenda posted on 26 April, 2018

The Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has published three working papers as part of its investigation into the investment consultancy and fiduciary management markets.

Entitled 'Barriers to entry and expansion', 'Financial performance and profitability' and 'Competitive Landscape', these papers include studies of pension scheme providers. These studies conclude that competitive processes are not providing pension scheme trustees with the "necessary information" to assess value for money. Furthermore, product recommendations of investment consultants are failing to add value.
