Aegon have undertaken research which reveals that 27% of people in the UK plan towards a 'cliff edge retirement', whereby they intend to stop work all at once. In contrast, 54% of Spanish workers and 52% of workers in France have similar plans for their retirement.
The study also found that 61% of UK workers are considering some form of transitional arrangement which would involve working part-time for a period during their 'retirement'.
