Nortel seeks PPF compensation

Telecoms company Nortel UK has approached the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) to seek support for its scheme after the company was put into administration.
The scheme has 43,000 members and an estimated deficit of £1bn.
The PPF is deciding whether the scheme will enter the assessment period.
